Chinese Methods to Stop Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a sexual problem that can be very depressing to its sufferer. Climaxing mere seconds after you begin is surely a humiliation. Even though your partner is a very understanding person, the guilt of not being able to satisfy her needs in bed may haunt you over and over again. Although there are no standards that establish how long an erection should last in order not to be included in the PE Club, it is commonly considered too fast when the ejaculation happens before a man wants it and his partner has not been satisfied yet.

In general, premature ejaculation is not considered a disease, but rather a condition that can be triggered by various factors whether mental, physical, or external. Physical cause of premature ejaculation may include urinary tract infections, which need immediate help from physicians. Psychological factors that trigger the sexual problem may be in the form of guilt, stress, or anxiety. Commonly, when these mental problems are solved, your sexual problem will also automatically be solved. Medications and other substances can also trigger premature ejaculation. Research found that OTC cold pills as well as tobacco found in cigarettes and alcohol consumption may be a cause of premature ejaculation.

Meanwhile, besides physical causes, Chinese believe that premature ejaculation as well as impotence and other sexual problems in males (and also females) are caused by the weak function of the kidney. This is caused by the insufficiency of the energy of Yin, Yang, or the combination of both inside our body. As the kidney is the repository of Yin and Yang energies, the imbalance or deficiency of the energies is also called kidney deficiency. One thing to note, these energy deficiencies do not relate with any kidney diseases as understood by the Western medical point of view. While clinical research has not yet explored the connection between Ying and Yang towards sexual health, much documentation shows the success of Yin and Yang treatment for stopping premature ejaculation and impotence.

A kidney deficiency in a person triggers weakness and pain of the lower back and knees, especially after sexual intercourse and masturbation. Each kidney deficiency pattern also shows different signs. For instance, in the Yang deficiency, one may feel the loss of sexual drive, lassitude, and a cold feeling in the limbs even during hot weather. The Yin deficiency, on the other hand, shows signs such as thirst, tinnitus, dizziness, hay fever, and excessive sweating. A male who suffers from Yin kidney deficiency may retain his sexual drive, but without a firm erection.

In treating the kidney deficiency, Chinese tradition uses combinations of several herbs such as horny goat weed (Epimidium sagittatum), deer antler (Cervi cornu), gecko, fo-ti (Polygonum multiflori), and du zhong (Eucommia ulmoidis). Horny goat weed, deer antler, gecko, and du zhong are popular liver and kidney tonics that function to strengthen the kidney as well as the sinew and bones. These herbs also help smooth the flow of energy and blood and are used for treating low sexual drive, dizziness, and weakness. On the other hand, fo-ti or fleeceflower root is a well-known anti-aging herb. Besides strengthening the blood flow and regulating aging, fo-ti also acts as a liver and kidney tonic, which detoxifies the blood as well as increases the Yin energy.

For the success of the kidney deficiency treatment, the patient is also suggested to consume foods that increase libido such as oysters, clams, walnuts, chestnuts, pig kidney, pigeon eggs, soft-shelled turtles, etc. On the other hand, eating the meats of animals such as lamb, sheep, sparrow, or dog should be avoided by PE patients. Other efforts that may help to stop this sexual problem is by changing lifestyle. The example of this would be abstaining from masturbation, avoiding premarital sex, relaxing during intercourse, doing regular exercises, and stopping consumption of cigarettes and alcohol.
